Pet Carriers

Thanks to celebrities like Paris Hilton carrying pooch around town like an accessory has become commonplace. Top designers are lending their names to pet carriers, creating carriers that look more like stylish tote bags. As long as the dog is small enough for one of these bags, they are perfectly safe.

All though it’s tempting, it’s important to not try and substitute a large bag for a pet carrier. While these carriers look like totes they actually do have safety features to protect the puppy. The bags have a rigid bottom to give the dog a comfortable surface to rest on.

They also have plenty of ventilation and a non-collapsing frame so the animal is not squished. These pet carriers can be used as a carry on item on airplanes but are not suitable for the cargo area. Larger dogs will have to go with the traditional carriers- who wants to carry their Lab on their shoulder anyways?
