When buying all the dog supplies for a new pet it’s easy to get confused. There are many products that may be harmful to a dog if not used properly. Dog toys can especially pose a hazard.

Dog toys are made for a variety of dogs and it’s important to understand that the toys that works for a teacup Poodle will not work for a Rottweiler. In the dog supplies section a pet owner will find aisles and aisles of toys. Big dogs need tough, large, durable toys.

Make sure there are no parts that can break off and pose a choking hazard.  Like all dog supplies make sure the material is safe for dogs- no lead paint or toxic chemicals. Do research, is the company trusted? Will the dog need to be supervised when playing with this toy? Never just assume a toy is safe because it was purchased in the dog supplies area.
