Dog Houses
Some dog owners mistakenly believe that if they bring their dog inside every night that they don’t need to provide the dog with shelter. This is just not true. If weather strikes while the owner is away the dog will need a place to retreat. Also dogs need areas that can be just for them- a private space- dog houses provide this.
Dog houses provide shade on hot days. They keep a dog dry on stormy days and warm on cold ones. For some dogs a house will also ease the anxiety they experience when left alone.
Dog houses should keep water out and have a safe, easy-to-access entrance. Plastic dog houses are durable and can handle the snow. Wooden dog houses should be smooth so that slivers can be avoided. The house should be large enough for the dog turn to stand up and turn around in.
