Where can I find a reputable Welsh Springer Spaniel breeder in the US? |
Preferably in or close to New England, but willing to travel. Check with the national breed club, and also look at www.akc.org. I met a gorgeous one at the Harrisburg PA shows this spring. The owner is a breeder/judge. Very nice person. Contact the national breed club at the link below. they can put you in contact with reputable breeders and local breed clubs. You can get a rescue dog for less than $1000. just go to petfinder.com and put the breed's name in, how old you would like it it be, and your zip, then you would help out too by adopting a dog. |

Check with the Springer Spaniel Rescue, if not in your state or local, you can look it up online, you can foster one for free, and, if it works out for you, you can arrange to adopt....Good Luck to... Find a reputible breeder!!!! Do not buy one from a pet store!!!! If you do then you will be suporting a puppy mill!!!!! EDIT- Or go to a shelter and rescue ...Yes, it sounds funny but I doubt that it is, you should ask your vet as it doesn't sound normal. Get him castrated by the way, you should do this anyway to be responsible for many reasons. ...It could be. They are highly energetic but also people oriented and want to please, so they are very trainable. Plan on lots of walks and exercise sessions and do take obedience training classes.... all dogs lick you! it means they are showing you respect and they love you ...My sister has one and i have to be honest and say that they struggle with him sometimes. He is so energetic and they can walk and run for miles and miles and he is never ever tired. He constantly... Mmmm, my young German Pointer pup does exactly the same!! Disgusting isn't it? Still, it doesn't seem to have done him any harm, and he's never been sick, or ill after eating one, so... yea! i have 2! they do lick ppl alot. especially when i come home from skool, or been away for more than 10 seconds. idk, maybe my 2 are an exception ... |
