Any other Weimaraner owners out there?

Hi I'm new here

I'm owned by a 4 year old rescue Weimaraner called Blue. He's a darling dog who's brought untold joy into our lives since he came to us 2 years ago. I'm looking forward to lots of general doggy chat and sharing Weim stories and stuff.

The joy a Weim brings is like no other. My husband 6 years ago wanted a dog, I did no want a dog. Now 6 years later I have 3 male weimies. Oldest Maximus aka Moose Max, Maxi (you is the alpha and about 80 lbs) then there is Lucias aka LouLou, Louie, and WooWoo (such a lover and weighs in at 95lbs-yeah heavy short stalky boy hoping the raw diet will help) and then A Boy Named Sue aka Jager, Bone, Skinny Butt ( he is a big baby and weighs in at 70 lbs).
It's amazing their need to shadow - I never thought that I would end of with kids.....these kids mean the world to me. We go hiking in the woods about 2 miles mornign then late afternoon. They are joyous to watch in their natural state. I have been doing research on the raw diet...not sure if it's something I'll do yet or not but seems to be a real natural way to feed our boys.

No, I don't own a Weimaraner, but I've always thought they were cool dogs. I love there color and there not very common. I do own a mutt puppy though. She's my first dog, anyway good luck with your dog.

I rescued a 2 yr.old (now 3) from a shelter. "Gracie" First of all, I have had neapolitan mastiffs for years, so when I brought her home it was like a high voltage of electricity came with her. She runs, sniffs, runs, sniffs, hunts and generally moves all day. Much to my surprise, I really did not know they were hunting dogs. I fell in love with her eyes. Training school and a lot of patience later, she is the most loyal, affectionate, loving, cuddly dog I could ever have hoped for. Weims are really unique, as I am learning. Funny, very very smart and and always surprise you. The thing I found most odd, until I joined a Yahoo Group, was that she burrows in my bed, head first, legs outstretched, under the covers, and will stay there all night. No joke. If you haven't seen it, there is quite an interesting bunch of weim owned people on the chat group. All tell funny, interesting and informed stories, yet, many of the quirks are all the same. I really wish I could have seen her as a puppy- and I know that she had a not very nice life before she found us. But, she is safe, loved and cherished now, so foward we will go. I own a three year old male weimy. ... get this.. named BLUE. LOL.. such an original name isnt it??lol I just joined the weimaraner rescue team and going to start fostering weims. my blue says hi to your blue!!!!

I own a 15 month old weim Dakota he is a great dog. I have to watch or the food off the table will come up missing.
