Where Can I find a Savannah Cat in California?

A Savannah Cat is a Hybrid Cat derived from careful hybridization of an Exotic African Serval Cat and a Domestic Cat. The offspring of this crossing results in the TICA Registered Cat Breed The "Savannah". Savannah Cats are beautiful, exotic and most of all unique to other domestic cat breeds as they are canine in nature a real live cat dog. The Savannah will walk on a leash, fetch a ball, & often loves to play in water. (toilet seats down in a Savannah house) Smiles, Patricia of Empire Exotics.

Savannah's are still a rare breed due to the difficult crossing. A few States do not consider a hybrid cat a domestic. The SV is subject to exotic cat laws in those states. In Ca.they are recognized as a domestic cat.

Do a search for Savannah cats and look for a breeder, if you find one, then ask them if they know of any breeders in California. Also, you could go to a TICA show - www.tica.org and see if there are any shows near you. You may be able to find a breeder there.
