Birman Vs Ragdoll?

I am thinking of getting a Birman but I want to know how much a Birman malts as compared to the Ragdoll. I know how much Ragdolls do as my mother in law has one and it drops hair all over the house all year round.

The biggest difference between the two is that the Ragdoll, being a hybrid, has got no defence gene. If attacked, it simply lies down. For that reason it's a purely indoor only cat, it's simply not safe to do otherwise unless you have a fenced garden like the Purrfect fence system.
The Birman does not matt as much as the Ragdoll, and if you're in a very warm area, the Birman is also a better bet.

Get a Birman They have a terrific story they are the cat of the gods. I have a birman and she is wonderful she likes water and very outgoing and no matting!!

Rag dolls are the super-duper placid ones...they're both ABSOLUTELY beautiful!! I'd want both....but i love Burmese my self =)
