White persian cat? |
can any one tell me in detail, Persians are usually very mellow cats , some things to think about when owning a persian especially a white one is the grooming and such to keep them looking lovely, daily (metal medium/small tooth combs work well) grooming and bathing/blow drying at least once a month. Persians should never be inside/outside cats their long coat will catch any and all things and will matt. You may also have to do a face wash on a daily basis as well. Depending on your kitty you may also have to deal with leftovers from litter box business due to the extra furry butts. If you have owned cats before you know that there is a chance even with a scratching post you may have scratched furniture etc. If you are planning on a blue eyed white persian you should know that a higher percentage of the blue eyed whites are deaf . You should also know that PKD (polycystic kidney disease) is a problem for persians and you should know the status of your kitty before purchase. The tests are not hard you can order kits from uc davis yourself swab your cat and send them back in for the cost of about 50 $ , so if the breeder you are looking at tries to tell you it is really expensive or charge you alot extra for doing the test you know they are playing you false. Hope this helps. Above all persians are amazing cats , beautiful , loving , funny and calm. enjoy = ) There aren't really any problems with keeping a cat in the house besides potentially scratching at furniture or a smelly litter box. Both which can be easily controlled by having a good scratching post and keeping the litter box clean daily. Persians are definitely indoor only type cats. Their long fur needs daily brushing, outside can get easily matted or caught up in branches. Also their short faces can lead to breathing issues in hot or cold weather if they are one of the more extremely bred lines. |
