Mastiffs: I can honestly say that I have never seen a mastiff -? |
dog of any of the Mastiff Breeds being walked in the street. Have you ever seen a Mastiff walking in the park etc. Where do people walk these dogs? Why do you never see them? Maybe you do, tell me about it - How well behaved are they? Do they scare you? i had a mastiff in Fla, i was out in the flowerbed planting flowers went in for a drink, came back out the dog went crazy, barking and wouldn't let me near the flowerbed,, looked down and seen a Pygmy rattle snake,if it had bitten me i would not have made it to the hospital in time! the dog saved my life, thanks ...take care! Report It I live in a rural area, and one of my neighbors has one who is allowed to roam. While I don't think it's such a great idea to let any dog just roam, I have to say that this dog is just a big old sweetie pie. He's about as lovey dovey as they come. He does have dangerous slobber, though. Do you live in a bubble? Do you have a Computer? It's the thing you typed your question on. Go to google.com - type in: Mastiff pictures - hit the return Key. Walla! Mastiffs. Several species - one is he largest heaviest of all dogs. Great guards. Usually GREAT pets. Biggggggg Pooper. Royal (Egyption) orgins. Getting only one is just like buying one and getting one free. Perfect for your Hummer. I OWN AN ENGLISH MASTIFF, his 3 yrs 3 months, fawn, named Putter, is awesome. We were showing him for a while, but stopped. He's awesome, laid back, gentle, loving, great with our pug, who we got last year. We walk him occasionally at the beach, but he really likes to lie down and sleep. It's just how the breed is. They are very well behaved and even more so when obedience trained when puppies. We spoke to a breeder and her big thing was, don't teach a mastiff puppy to do anything that you don't want a 200 lb dog to do, which we thank her for every day. They do not scare me, in fact, this was the first dog I had and my husband said this was the best puppy he ever had and he had dogs growing up. They're a giant breed and that scares a lot of people off of them. There are thousands of them. If you go to mastiff.org or akc.org, you can get a lot more information. at the dog park we go to, this guy has 2. one's name is beowolf. its HUGH. very well behaved, just huge. its funny cause our pup is only 7 months old, and aussy shep, and she was playing with a boxer, and the mastiff had the BOTH of them wrestling under neith of him!! I have a mastiff. His name is Marmaduke. He is the best dog I have ever had. I love his laid back, do what ever you want to me personality. We have an acre fenced in for him to run and play which doesn't last long then he is inside laying at my feet or following me around the house. The only bad thing about him is the slobbers but I can live with that since he is part of our family. Just a big love bug. I live in the outer suburbs of perth and own an 18month old male mastiff. i do walk him but there are limits to how much you can exercise this breed. when young you are warned too much exercise can damage bone growth and also as they get heavier you cant walk them when its too hot or too cold. he is prone to being lazy and a 15 minute walk is plenty for him 2-3 times a week. he now weighs 60kg with plenty more room to grow and i must say he gets alot of attention when we go for a stroll. Some people cross the road so they dont have to pass him, litlle do they know the worst he would do is sit on them! Also there arent a great deal of mastiffs compared to more smaller breeds because you do need space in your car house and yard. Also feeding, worming, de fleaing and veterinary costs are mammoth because they go by the dogs weight. it probably costs me about $100 month for my bigboy!BUT I LOVE HIM!!!!! |
