Mastiff dog?

I saw this dog that i wanted but i can't find out what kind of breed it is. The man said it was a mastiff/master safi(spelling)? dog. (he had an accent so i couldn't really understand). But i looked up mastiffs and it wasn't it they are big dogs 200 pounds but the faces almost look like pitbulls. Does anyone know what kind of dog it is? thanks :)

Can you describe what the dog looked like?? Maybe the man said American Stafford (terrier)??

Mastiff IS a breed of dog, and there are several kinds of mastiffs. They are all LARGE breeds.

If the dog you saw doesn't look like the pictures of mastiffs you find online, then you'll have to post a photo somewhere like photobucket so you can give us a link to look at the dog.

ALSO... have the man write down on paper for you the name of the breed of dog that this dog is. We cannot begin to guess what the dog is if it's not a mastiff, as we have NO idea what the dog looks like. Mastiff IS a large breed. master safi is NOT a breed.

It could be a presa canario, its a mastiff type dog that looks like a pitbull.

Can you post a picture? It really does sound like a Presa. Hard to say till we see it.
