English Mastiff's general description with other animals? |
I have an English Mastiff and a Pomeranian. I know Mastiff's get along with other dog's in a whole as a breed, but what about cat's? I was thinking about getting an Asian Bengal kitten, but that is an awfully big dog to just test it out without know first what the breed standard is. If you get a kitten and supervise the interactions of the dogs with the kitten you should have no problem. Mastiffs are huge but gentle unless abused or left unsocialized. But anyone having a dog of such size needs to be very interested in the socialization this animal receives and that it can interact with people in a trustworthy manner and other animals. My cousin has 2 toy poodles, an English Mastiff and a Siamese cat. They all get along, the poodles even boss the poor Mastiff around.......lol, but she had the cat before she got the dogs - don't know if that really makes a difference or not though. It really depends greaty on how the dog was raised, but in general they do get along with cats. I knew an English mastiff that was so big and lazy...........when he used to sit in the front yard birds would come and land on his head and pick bugs off of his furr, and he didn't mind. Believe me you are OK when it comes to cats |
