Another good Mastiff story.?

My wife, myself and our Rott were laying on the couch watching TV. Our Mastiff was looking for a spot on the couch but there was no room. So he went to the back door to let me know he had to go outside, when I went over and opened the door, he turned around and ran back to the couch and took my spot. Mastiffs might be lazy and stubborn but you can't tell me there stupid. Any other dog stories were there dogs outsmarted them.

that's cute

Happens to me every day :))))
Dogs are the smartest people ever :))))

Barking at the door at a non-existant person and then attempting to steal the pizza is a favorite.

I love smart dogs... in my experience the most clever ones have been the hardest to enforce obedience without training them there is some sort of gain (praise, cookie) for doing the job.

Its not that the readily obedient ones aren't lovely... I think I just like a dog who is a challenge.

good one

it's not confirmed yet, but specialists say dogs have some kind of animal intelligence. I dont care if someone says that's illogical or silly, but new know it's true. :) Nice dog!!
I keep getting impresed about the strange things that they do sometimes!! If they could talk they would be just like people...just kidding :D

that was adorable. I have never seen a dog do something like that.

I don't have enough room for all the stories our dogs have done!! I have a deaf 4yo Jack Russell Terrier, a 2yo Pointer/Lab mix and newly added 1.5 year old Bassett Hound. One of my favorite stories of the JRT was one night my husband and I were on separate couches attempting to read. Lilly, the JRT, was bouncing from couch to couch trying to get us to play with her and her tennis ball. We would toss the ball back and forth for a bit but after awhile my husband and I got tired of playing and wanted to read so we ignored her. Usually when we ignore her she will give up and crawl up on our lap and go to sleep. Well, Lilly crawled up on my husbands chest and started turning in circles like she was going to sleep, ut she didn't. She squatted and peed all over him and his book!!! I was too busy laughing hysterically do to anything other than point and laugh!
Then just recently we went on a float trip with our dogs. It was hot out so we were stoppping every twenty/thiry minutes to let the dogs swim and cool off. Well, Lilly loves the water and apparently our stops weren't frequent or long enough for her. We had just stopped and she kept whinning and wanting to go swimming and haning over the side of the canoe. I thought she just wanted to look and be nosy. I set her up on the front of the canoe in front of me and looped her leash around my ankle. She perched on the bow of the canoe and looked around and looked very content. I took this time to reach back in the cooler for a beer and all of a sudden my husband yelled and pointed to the front of the canoe. Lilly had swan dived off the nose of the canoe and was swimming along side of the canoe. She had waited until I had my back turned and she jumped in!!! She would swim up to me and whine when she wanted in the canoe. I would pick her up and set her back up on the bow and she would curl up in a ball and nap or sit on her haunches and watch what was going on around her. When she was ready she would jump back in and swim. We did this for the entire ten mile float!!!

The other day we were sitting outside on chairs in a circle, about 8 or 9 people. My brother in law's fox terrier was running around the circle when my Shih-tze Poodle mix started chasing him. After about 2 laps, my dog cut through the circle of chairs and cut the fox terrier off at the pass-I thought that was very smart and pretty funny.

How cute!
