Maltese..........................

Maltese.... are they good or bad? Are they recommended for children? Know any sites where i can find info on them? Also, if you own a maltese, are they easy to train?

Do maltese shed a lot?

You can look in www.akc.org

I have 2 maletese's I LOVE THEM!!! THEY ARE S00000 GREAT! Report It

They do not shed!.at all. Report It

Erm... i wanted to get a maltese~ but alot of ppl say they have alot of health problems.. so i'm thinking again right now... I didnt know choosing a dog to breed was this hard... Report It

Try the American Kennel Club website, they usually have pretty good description of the a breed and what their temperment should be.

A dog or puppy from your local rescue center would be alot better choice.

I LOVE MALTESES!!!! I think they'd make great pets! :)

yes they are good. but some can get a little over protected. mine HATES children. he wants all of the attention.

Maltese can take close to a year to housebreak. Depending on the dog.

They do not shed. They will require alot of grooming at least every 4 weeks.

They are great dogs with children. The question is are your kids good with dogs??? Dogs and kids should ALWAYS be supervised together. The nicest dog can get annoyed with a child and snap.

i have one,,,she is fine with my children,(they all grew up together) I have never had any problems, but i treat all my animals like babies (they are my children too). They are not easy to train,,,,no small dog is, unless you are home all of the time.. Mine is now 15, and she has to sleep in a cage cause she will pee on the floor, ( I have to replace my rugs) But i am not home all day. When I am though I have no problems.... If you would like a mid size dog that is excellent with kids I recommend a keeshound......good luck

I love my maltese! He is very calm and loving very good for an older family I think. He loves to lay down all day, but will play when you want him to. He is usually pretty good with kids, as long as they don't pester him...

Maltese should NOT shed but... I own a Havanese which are in the Maltese and Bichon family

Havanese's are great with families with people etc...
they are very easy to train, as for me and my friends. I know 8 people who own them, 5 have purchased females some have more than one Havanese in their homes. Most prefer females, over the males. My friends with the males 3 of them, 2 do not care for the males, one does.

Mine is 6 years old now. We love here. VERY VERY SMART.. loving people want to take mine home all the time, I get a TON of compliments... Good Luck!!

I am half Maltese. My father was born in Malta and came to the U.S. in the early '50s.

He's usually good, but can be a pain in the butt sometimes. I believe that I'm also good, but am short tempered. My brother's gay, my older sister's wierd, my younger sister's overweight and my baby sister's a recluse. All in all, we're good folks, but a little messed up.

My father has five children (well, had. We're all grown, now.). He wasn't the best father in the world. I have two kids, and, although I mean well, I'm pretty sure they're going to need therapy when they grow up. So, Maltese are not recommended for children.

My father graduated college with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a 3.86GPA. I graduated Texas State Technical College with an Associate's degree in Technical Drafting with a 4.0 GPA and am currently working on my Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and am currently holding an 3.96 GPA. So, although we've never been owned, we can be trained.

Thank you for asking.
