My maltese dog size? |
i have a maltese and he is 8 months old.he is a little bigger than most of the maltese i ssee around . is it normal for a maltese to be 12 pounds? he is not overwieght.is it normal for him to be that size? i still love him if he were 50pounds but is just that i want to know because i heard that there are some maltese that grow bigger that the standard that is 4-7 pounds or something like that. The standard is 4 to 6 lbs. However, all that means is that is the preferred weight and size as set by AKC. A 12lb maltese is perfectly normal, is just means it didn't get the genes for smaller size. A Malteese usually weighs from 4-6 lbs. Their height is about 10". Yours is just larger then the standard. It's normal. My boyfriend has a maltese shih tzu cross (I shook my head too, but still love the bugger!) and the maltese mother was 13lbs. His dog is 11lbs fully grown now. no that is normal give him more exsercize so he will lose weight |
