Maltese puppy???

I really love the way maltese puppies look, they are sooo cute! Do all maltese's grow up to be the fancy show dog looking likes - as in... Do they all have to have that really really really long hair that goes to the floor? Or can it be kept kind of curly and short.
Also, Do toy poodle's fur stay short and curly and even or do they all end up looking like a poodle?
How big are Norfolk Terriers supposed to be?

Um yeah sure.......Do some research!

you can have your maltese clip instead of letting it have the long hair. malts also shed. poddle hair does not stop growing. they do shed it just stay in the coat and has to be brushed out at least 2 times a week as to the height of a Norfork Terriers you need to look up the standered. the site is akc.org

No, Maltese show dogs need a lot of work to look the way they do.Their coat is not like normal dogs fur, it keeps growing.

A lot of non show Maltese owners have their dogs coats clipped, particularly around the rear part. And it will then remain
curly.

Unless you have LOTS of time to devote to brushing a Maltese, I suggest that you have it clipped. Lots of people keep their Maltese cut short (not skinned) for reasonable purposes. They are sweet dogs and should not be disregarded because of their high maintenance. Another thing is that ANY pet quality dog WILL NOT look like a show dog. Poodles are great pets and their fur does grow but they do not shed. Poodles will also matt up if you do not keep them brushed/clipped.

Poodles hair continues to grow, and grow, everywhere.

Poodles do "NOT' shed. I have had several, and always have a pack of poodles. I have, never experienced any of my poodles "shedding".
If you brush them every day, to 2x a day the only matting that will occur is normal play, but it will be at the surface not at the root (unless your poodle gets into something sticky).
When you brush a poodle some hair comes out, the dead hair, like with humans, and there may/will be snarls.
Some poodle can lose more hair then others, from playing, diet, or genetics.
I have noticed 2 coat types in poodles a softer coat, and a harsh coat. The harsher coat needs less work, has more body, easier to dry and stands up /remains full longer after grooming.
Poodles come in every size, and color, and pattern. They can be clipped, or shaved into any pattern you want, or stripped right down.
I love poodles :)

A Maltese's hair will grow continuously just like human hair. It does not shed and for that reason they need to be clipped every 4-6 weeks. You can keep it short in a "puppy cut" or a "teddy bear cut". Most Maltese owners keep their hair short if they are not show dogs because it does get matted easily. I would have to brush Koty's hair about once a week and do daily mat checks for matted fur. Koty's hair was slightly wavy but not curly. If it's curly it could be a malti-poo. A toy poodles hair also grows continuously and they do not shed but also need to be cut regularly to keep it short. They don't tend to get as matted as Malteses as the Maltese fur is more silky. As for norfold Terriers, they can be between 10-12 lbs.

I only know about poodles. Trust me - their hair keeps growing. That's how the show dogs get their look, the hair is grown longer in some places and then "fluffed". I always keep my poodles in the "puppy clip", short hair with shaved face and feet. They are not hard to groom this way.
Just for interest, I have also seen corded poodles, the owners let the hair grow really long and it becomes corded, like dreadlocks.
