Maltese puppy question.-Maltese owners please help?

I have been researching the breed (maltese)for almost 1 year and have nearly read every website with information on malteses ie.Breed standards,tempermant ect..
Now i want to make the step to buy one what would you suggest would best way to buy one from a reputable breeder??

you call and talk to them see how it goes then go check out the puppy and the owners home and other dogs if you can.

if you are interested email me at malteselover3@aol.com
if you are intesrested and you live in jersey or new york or anywhere close. and i can give you the number to my steps moms house if you are interested.

You find the reputable breeders, call them and go from there. You visit, you ask questions, you answer questions.
Usually, you get on a waiting list.

find a reputable breeder, go there, check out the home where the dogs live etc
then make your choice!

Yeah, I love maltesers....I nibble the chocolate off first...

When you find a breeder ask for a couple people they have sold dogs to for reference on how their dogs turned out. You should always ask the breeder to see the parents of the puppies. I thought i bought a Maltese puppy, but as my puppy grew I realized he had to be mixed with bichon or another type of dog because he weighs 18lbs and is a large small dog. You can always ask a couple of vets for reputable breeders.

Firstly, don't buy one which isn't KC Registered.
Contact the Maltese Breed Club and ask them for details of your nearest breeder and/or check out KC accredited breeders. Maltese are not that common so you may well have to be prepared to go on a waiting list for a healthy pup from a reputable breeder;
Good breeders do not usually also own the father - they may have travelled to the other end of the country to find the very best stud dog for their *****/
Good Luck
