Keeshond???

Okay so my mother has a friend at work and the lady is having financial trouble and is moving into a mobile home park because she just got a divorce and her daughter is going off to college.
Her dog is a 12 year old Keeshond and has silver and black points.
The mobile home excepts dogs but she is worried that the dog will act up too much and bark and they will kick her out.

She is looking into giving it away but she doesn't really know what to do.

So what should she do?

She lives in South Windsor, CT if that helps.

Please don't be judgemental on her part.

Easy 10 points!

If she brings it to the police department will they take her right there on the spot?

What's the problem? I've had Kees' for over 20yrs. & none of them were very loud. They are trained to be barge guard dogs, but rarely bark for no reason. These dogs are very calm & people oriented. They love to be around their "family" & are unhappy when left alone. This friend should give it a try. Since she's going to be alone, she & the dog will have each other for company. That's all a keeshond needs, somebody to love & they're happy as a clam. Even if someone complains, the police can't take the dog right away, but the landlord could cause trouble. Just try to keep the dog busy & don't leave it alone for long periods.

She can always give it a try. The park association should give her the chance to get rid of the dog before kicking her out if the dog proves to be a problem. She can take it to a shelter (preferably a no kill) or try to find a home on her own. If she does not know the person interrested, she can have the stipulation that she has to approve the family and home first...

She should first try having her dog there those types of dogs are good dogs... Yes they enjoy barking, is it in inside dog or outside I'm sure if it's an inside dog she shouldn't have any problems!! If she really wants to give it away she should look in to a Keeshond rescues or a NO kill shelter! She also could put an ad in the paper free to good home for an older Keeshond maybe some one in that area needs a companion for another Keeshond! Hope I gave ya some ideas!

Bless her heart!

It might be a good idea for her to try keeping the dog at first and actually see how the dog does at the mobile home park. With all that the lady is going thru, it might actually be nice for her to keep her companion.

Otherwise, a 12 year old dog may be hard to find a home for. Also, if she is concerned about it causing a ruckus, think new owner wouldn't want those same issues.

Ideas: Look up the local humane society and I hate to say this, but may be consider having the dog put down. :(

I wish her and the dog the best!
