What should I know about Flat Coated Retrievers? |
My dad has his mind set of getting one of these, he won't get anything else. We found a breeder and contacted them, and are waiting for a response. But in the meantime, any thing special these breeds have that others don't? Do they get along with other dogs (Golden Retriever)? And do they need any special requirements? Also, my dad named our Golden Retriever Brady, after the Patriots player Tom Brady. What should we name this one? Here are the names we are thinking of, please choose what you like best: name, Jackson or Scott This is a playful, exuberent, friendly breed that gets along wellwith others and is easy to train. Health screens for hips and eyes recommended.I like 'Jackson' samuel my is samuel chance its the best i have a golden Flat coats in general are great with other dogs, high energy since they are hunting dogs and very prone to cancer. I like Jackson as a name too. Flat coats need grooming too since they are a long haired breed. There are many in rescues and shelters and a few hunting dog rescues exsist so if you want a rescued dog who hunts try a hunting dog rescue. |
