Canaan Dog Breed? |
My family is interested in acquiring a Canaan Dog. Does anyone have an knowledge about the breed concerning how compatibility they are with cats and other dogs, and how they do home alone. Also, where I can get one from a reputable breeder in New England? Help please! And i also know for a fact that there are at least 3 Canaan dog breeders in NE recommended by the official canaan dog club. :-) The AKC has breeder listing on their website. Before you get one spend the day with one. Contact the Canaan Dog Rescue group and talk to experienced dog owner. What may be a good dog for one lifestyle may not fit with another. These dogs are very , very aggressive and are not for a family at all. They need alot of training and obedience training. They are very big dogs also. they are very predatory they do good with bigger kids and large dogs but not cats small dogs or small kids I don't know who said that they are generally good with other animals, but that is simply untrue----UNLESS the owners have EXTENSIVELY socialized them. |
