Question about the Karelian Bear Dog?

how come every dog in the world is on the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, except for the Karelian Bear Dog, the cockapoo and the canaan dog and other breeds?

not recognized, as it is a new breed or not established enough, some times dogs are recognized but so rare none show up. Some breeds dislike what showing does to the breed as it is a beauty contest to them and stud books are keep and local shows held. Cockapoos and other mix breeds are not true breeds they are basically mongrels or mutts, they can be shown in fly ball and other sports but rarely confirmation as no breed standard is set for mixes, and I thought the Canaan was AKC, but rare

The cockapoo is not a breed, it's a mix. Maybe at some point it will be established and recognized as a breed, but not yet. I don't know if there is a national club that has established a standard, but that would be a first step. Then there would be possibly some sort of provisional status before being recognized as a seperate breed. The club would have to have some sort of registry. It takes quite a while to create a new breed with stable characteristics, then usually some time after that to be recognized.

KBDs are on the AKC's list of rare breeds, but may be added to the AKC registry at some point. They are listed in their Foundation Stock Service, which means they are on their way to being recognized. I think KBDs are very interesting, sort of an alternate version of the Akita.

Canaan dogs are a recognized breed, maybe it's just a question of rarity.
