Is a Basset Hound the best pet for my lifestyle?

I relaly would like to have a basset hound or another mid sized dog. Basset hounds are my favorite dog but are they really loud?

I have a friend that has a Bassett hound. They are very laid back. His dog doesn't howl. He will bark/howl when he wants attention or is trying to talk. They are funny little dogs. I don't think anything excites them and they are quite intelligent. He likes his so much he is getting another one.

hound dogs always like people being there so if your always out not a good idea, same with beagles....and they can get quite loud..

Hounds are loud, and good for people who stick araound. So if you like LOUD dogs, take the hound. If you like going on vacations, and out every night, ummmmmmmm no. Not for you.
