Basset Hound Whining.?

I have a 2 year old basset hound / female. She has been fixed, all her shots are up to date and her diet has not changed.
About two weeks ago she started whining at everything, to be let out, to come in, when she wants anything she whines.
She whines so loud that it will wake us up in the middle of the night.
I have tried everything, I know, to control her whining but everything has failed. The vet. has no idea why she has started whining.
Anyone with any idea's PLEASE HELP !!!!!
Thanks

She is trying to communicate with you. When my dog whines I turn my back and ignore him. To a dog that means alot! That is 'language' to them. If he is outside in his kennel and wants to come inside and whines, I turn my back, and ignore him. When he quits (when she quits) I give him ALOT of praise! That way she is learning when she whines she gets nothing but when she does not whine she gets what she is looking for! TO DOT make a big deal about it/make a big scence because she will get even more excited. Just say "uh-oh, whining...sorry!" and turn your back and ignore her until she does good. Try that- this way it is always a postitive outcome. I do not like using negative ways to correct, I have learned best this way and it has worked for all of my dogs. Sometimes yea, you have to use negative ways but TRY NOT TO! Hope this helps.

Bassets are known for their 'voice'.haha
She can't speak human so she is doing her best to communicate.
Love her all you can....and snap to it!!!!!
She wants something!! NOW!!!!
hahaha Really tho.
Enjoy her and figure out what she is tryin to tell you.
Like maybe take her for her walk before she starts to whine.
Let her in before she starts to whine.
.....ect....
emphasis on the Before..
Get to know your dog all over again....sounds like you are slacking..

The vet has no idea why she's whining because he's a doctor, not a psychiatrist or a therapist. It's not a medical problem.

I don't know, I'd say maybe your dog has learned that whining gets her what she wants. (She looks at the door and whines, and you let her out. She whines at the door again, and you let her in. She whines in the night and you get up) Maybe you need to teach her that whining won't get her what she wants anymore.
