How big will my lab/basenji puppy get? |
She is almost 6 months old and weighs about 22 pounds. We were told she is a lab mix, but we've kind of assumed she's mixed with a basenji (due to pointy ears, lack of barking, jumping ability, black with white chest/paws... etc...) She's growing fast! We got her only 2 weeks ago and she's gained 4 pounds already! I have a hard time judging by her paws, so I'm hoping to get someone's thoughts... thanks a bunch! She might end up around 50 pounds? Depending on how much lab and how much basenji is in her- it could vary. Labs can get to around 75 pounds on average, and basenjis to about 25... so if you average them out it comes to about 50. Both basenjis and labs are great dogs though, congratulations!!! labs range from 60-90lbs it depends on her other mix part if it was a small dog such a say a beagle she would probably be about 55lbs but if it was a large breed mix like say a retriever or boxer she would probably be about 70-75lbs so it just depends on the other part of the lab mix, good luck with your new little puppy(she sounds cute!!!) I would say around 470 pounds, maybe 6 foot tall. She may gain 10 to 15 pounds more it's hard to say. Does sound like she'll be a medium size. She also sounds very cute. All the best;^) When someone throws the word "mix" into a dog breed, there's really no telling how large they will grow. I adopted a dog that was a Springer Spaniel "mix" about 2 years ago. He weighted 50 lbs at that time and was told that he won't get any larger (most Springer Spaniels I have read about are usually around 30 to 50 lbs). My dog now stands at a good 80 lbs and is the biggest springer spaniel - looking dog a lot of people have ever seen. Just be prepared for a large dog and hope that she doesnt eat you out of house and home. Good luck. |
