Australian Shepherd!?!!??!?!?!?

ok, how many Aussie Shepherds go deaf out of how many that don't?

I am really worried about getting an Aussie Shepherd because I don't want him to go deaf. I want a Blue Merle. Do you no which is more likely to go deaf??

Thanks for all answers.

It's like Russian Roulet. They're really lick dogs!

There are no guarantees in life. Life itself is a risk.

frankly aussies are more prone to having eye problems than deafness.

vet would know

do a search on the internet

your risk go up if the pup has a lot of white on its head. Do not know why but seems to work that way. BUT even if it is there are things you can do that will make your dog seem even smarter even if it is deaf. Deafness is only a problem if you let it be.

The dog doesnt get deaf it should be born that way. And besides what is the problem with a deaf dog? They are still gonna love you! It is like saying you dont want your grama because shes blind!
ADOPT DONT SHOP!!

Blue merle does not mean more likely to be deaf. Aussies that are deaf are usually Double Merles or Lethal Merles, because an irresponsible breeder bred two merles together.
I do not think you should worry about your blue merle being deaf...it is not a likely risk.
