Avid sportsman that truly believes this is the perfect dog. I just can't find any breeders. I'm in Indiana, but travel is no problem for a partner. I'd check out the breeder list at http://www.americanwaterspanielclub.org/ first off. A really good way to meet breeders is at dog shows in your area. www.onoforio.com has a listing of upcoming shows, and you can check the shows your interested in to see how many AWSs came the previous year, and if its close enough to the show, you'll be able to see how many are entered for the upcoming show.
It can definitely be hard to a breeder close to you when you're interested in a less common breed, but its always worth it to find a reputable breeder. Good luck!
